If you want to come here, basically all you have to do is apply - the admission office lets in over 60% of applicants. However, if you think you are on the bubble, make sure that your activities section stands out to push you over the top.

I didn't do well on the ACT/SAT and did nothing my whole time in high school (I made a decent GPA in honors/AP classes but nothing special). I'm a girl so I got in. Also, if you are out-of-state and your parents have the money they will let you in. Simple for girls and out of state students, but Georgia boys have to try a little harder.

Overall it's a lot easier than you think to be accepted.

I selected Textile Polymer and Fiber Engineering as my major when applying. This school really wants anyone and everyone that wants to come to tech and apply to their school. I am not sure if it helped but I got in. Then either at FASET or right afterward I switched my major to Electrical Engineering. It can't hurt.

I was in-state and was HS valedictorian, so I really didn't pay much attention to the admission process for Tech.

Although, recently Tech has a new thing...conditional acceptance. If your scores/grades aren't quite up to par, they require that you take a half summer semester before the fall of your freshman year, and if you do well, then you are admitted full time. DO IT. you can take some crap like precalculus and sociology and rock a 4.0 GPA and get full acceptance. Plus you get a head start socially. It's great.
